Some changes, especially language, may require a restart; verify in the application.
Fonts
Fonts → Manuscript transcription sets editor fonts; Fonts → Labels sets shared heraldic reconstruction/description label fonts. Choose family, size and style, preview or reset. Confirming updates open views; Cancel applies nothing. These are display preferences, not project content changes.
Directories and moving data
Under Directories (under Storage depending on build), set content, models/runtimes, training runs, templates, research aids, caches and settings locations. Browse… selects the parent; the application appends its subdirectory. Choose shared data directory… sets separate stores together.
Changes take effect at next startup, including transfer and verification. Destinations must be new/empty and stores cannot be nested. Allow room for a working copy and keep the destination disk available. Compatible links remain at old paths; do not delete them. Project files themselves are not moved. Close other application instances before changing locations.
HTR has a shared parent directory with separate Kraken/Party subfolders. Select and verify custom runtimes under HTR; users maintain these themselves.
Graphs
GUI → Graphs → Relationship lines switches straight/curved lines in both genealogy and heraldic research graphs. It changes no data, object positions or Undo history.
